Organize Your Business for 2023

Becoming an entrepreneur means transitioning from working with a full team to working with a much smaller one or just yourself. This means having an organized structure comes down to you. Whether you are working from home or at a designated location, your space, time, and client relationships should be strategically laid out to ensure other parts of your business run smoothly.

Here are some areas every entrepreneur should consider to get more organized in:

01. Organize Your Workspace

First things first, organize your workspace. We know just how easy it is for your space to quickly become a mess of paperwork, notes, and whatever else may land on your desk.

However, making it a priority to keep your space tidy will help you be more productive and yield a higher payoff for your business.

We suggest storing any paperwork in designated folders or better yet digitally! Using Google Drive under your business’s email is a perfect place to do this. You can create tons of folders and categorize them as you like. Also, consider keeping a visual aid with your timelines as a daily reminder. You can do this, with either a calendar, planner, or to-do list (which can also come in digital forms).

02. Organize Your Time

Managing your time as a small business owner is crucial. The time you put into closing deals, making connections, and getting your product out there will be what scales your business. However, this doesn't mean ALL your time needs to go into your business. Don't forget you also have a life outside of your work and the quickest way to feel burned out is by not making time for that part of your world.

Prioritizing and organizing your time is the best way to grow your business while still living your best life. Set time out of your day and week to go over your deadlines and write them down. Yes, write them down. Let's be honest. There is so much on your plate as an entrepreneur, not writing your tasks down and making the list visible to you throughout your day will make you have to fully rely on your brain to remember; which can't always be trusted to do. Plus checking tasks off a list is satisfying and encourages you to accomplish more.

Another way to better manage your time is scheduling out either certain days of the week or times of your day to complete these tasks. For example, use Monday as your day to catch up on anything from the week before or have your mornings dedicated to replying to emails and housekeeping.

03. Organize Your Client Relationships

Being organized isn't always about your space and time, but also about your client relationships. Block off time on your calendar specifically to reply to emails or to have client calls.

Another way to be organized with your client relationships is by prioritizing how you show up for them. The main way to do that is through social media. Showing up on your social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, email stream, etc) is what will keep your clients warm and help you make more sales. If you are having trouble with this, try using a scheduling platform for your content. It will save you so much time and check another box off your list of tasks.

If you want to see your business grow then you need to be able to handle that growth, and to do that means to get organized. We encourage you to try some of these tips out and see just how much smoother your days go.
